Scatter Plots

Configuring a Scatter plot

  1. Click the scatter plot button on the main toolbar to bring up the field selection dialog for scatter plots

  2. Add fields to the x or y-axes field selection, by selecting the field(s) to be added and clicking on the corresponding x or y-axes add (>) button.

  3. Remove fields from the x or y-axes field selection, by selecting the field(s) to be removed and clicking on the corresponding x or y-axes remove (<) button.

  4. (Optional:  Add all fields to the x or y-axes field selection by clicking on the corresponding add all (>>) button. )

  5. (Optional:  Remove all fields form the x or y-axes field selection by clicking on the corresponding remove all (<<) button. )

  6. Click Ok button when the selection has been made.

  7. A new scatter plot will be returned for each combination of x and y-axes input fields. Below is an example of a scatter plot.

Display field limits

  • Select the Inner Limits check box to show/hide the inner limits for the plotted fields.

  • Select the Outer Limits check box to show/hide the outer limits for the plotted fields.

Zoom features for scatter plots

  • Zoom in all axes: Click this button once to zoom in on the scatter plot with the center of the scatter plot as the zoom center.

  • Zoom out all axes: Click this button once to zoom out on the scatter plot with the center of the scatter plot as the zoom center.

  • Zoom box: Click this button to enable/disable the zoom box feature.  The zoom box feature will allow you to click-and-drag a rectangular selection on the scatter plot to zoom in on the specified area.

  • Zoom to fit: Click this button once to fit the entire data set into the view and return to the original view.
